APPENDIX 2:
How to update the guide
ETS2 - Colección de Mods "La Ruta de los Lobos"
When updating our Collection and the GMC Community Map Combo, be throughout, do slowly, read, put attention and do not rush. A simple mistake from your side, can lead to waste hours trying to resolve a bug or incompatibility and often lead also to use precious time from us and the GMC stuff trying to help you.
Roughly 99% of the times when a player has issues in-game are related to mistakes done during installation or updates. Always check double or more times your list is correct and reflect/mirror the source.
The mod's collection status:
SCS release updates periodically for Euro Truck Simulator 2: new map expansions, bug fixes, etc.
After each official update, most mods become unusable and/or incompatible and is necessary to check for updates and test in game.
We will state the collection is Under Revision with an announce in the ETS2 Mods Installation page, meaning the entire mods card list will be hidden and mods cards will start to reappear one by one, when compatibility is assured.
There are three Mod’s Collection Status:
- Full compatible: the list is updated to last version of ETS2. Play with your main profile as usual.
- Semi compatible: the list is under revision and mods are being reinstated periodically. Is safe to play with your main profile as usual.
- Under revision: the list is not compatible with the last version of the game, even if you see mod cards on the list, it still lacks the most game play changing ones, like Economy, Maps Combo, Weather, etc. It is not safe to play with your main profile dedicated to the collection with so few mods available.

Our recommendation during the Under Revision phase is that you play with another profile, for example lets call it Vanilla, so the saves you have playing with the guide, are kept untouched. The reason is that there is always a chance your saves get corrupted trying to play without some mods, as it can happen in any game, and is safer to wait than risk to lose your progress. Patience is key at this phase.
1. Disable all mods in the ETS2 Mod Manager:
Before you start updating the mods, disable each and all mods in game first in your Profile dedicated to play with our collection + GMC Map Combo. But do not load in-game save’s profile under any circumstances. Just disable the mods, close the game, start updating.
2. Steam Workshop mods updates:
The update process for mods you have subscribed in the Steam Workshop is automatic. Each time a mod is updated by its author, your Steam client will download it accordingly. Some mods will continue to work even if not updated, your only concern is if it is present in our ETS2 mod’s installation page.
3. NON Steam Workshop mods updates:
The update process for mods you have downloaded manually from different sources, like Promods, TruckyMods, SCS Forums, Grimes Weather and ETS2.LT is straightforward:
- If you see the mod’s present at the list, check our changelog page and determine if the mod in question need to be updated or just activated back in the game’s mod manager.
- If it need to be updated, then download the new version using the mod’s link and place manually the new version in \Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod deleting the old one at the same time.
- If the mod need to be edited, proceed to do it as the Appendix 1 instructs.
4. GMC Community Map Combo update:
Every time the GMC Community Map Combo list get updated, we recommend you to delete in the \Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod folder all the maps mods you previously downloaded and placed manually and then start all over again. This will ensure a clean installation of maps without mistakes.
If you followed our instructions, you should have a “ETS2 Mods Downloads” folder and inside another named “Mapas de ETS2 where you have downloaded the full GMC Community list of mods.
Visit their website, chose the list and maps you will install, and start downloading. If any download has a big size, check if the version you have downloaded previously is the same or the mod has a new version. Delete any old version you have and then place the new version in \Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod folder.
Steps:
- Delete all maps mods in \Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod
- Visit GMC Community and start downloading the maps in your ETS2 Mods Downloads\ETS2 Maps folder.
- Delete old version of each map zip/.scs file downloaded previously.
- Place manually the new version of the map mod in \Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod
- Enable them in the game mod manager according to the Load Order at the GMC Community website.
- Check everything at least twice.
- Done.
